When In Doubt Out... Zoom Out
Jan 03, 2026
Bad moments lie to us all of the time.
They whisper that this is how the story ends.
We’ve all had bad moments.
A bad moment can feel like a bad day.
A bad day can feel like a bad week.
A bad week can convince you it’s a bad year.
But that’s usually a perspective problem.
When I’m in the middle of a hard moment, it’s easy to zoom in so far that everything feels permanent.
Mistakes feel defining.
Setbacks feel final.
Sometimes a bad moment feels like proof that things aren’t working.
That’s when I have to pause and remind myself to zoom out.
One moment is a sentence, not a paragraph.
One day is a paragraph, not a chapter.
One year is a chapter, not the story.
Progress isn’t erased by a slip or a stumble.
Growth isn’t deleted by a pause.
Direction isn’t lost because the road gets rough.
Perspective applies everywhere... self-growth, relationships, business, and health.
Perspective doesn’t deny the pain of a bad moment. It just reminds you it’s temporary.

Zoom out.
Take a breath.
Remind yourself of the plan.
Keep moving forward.
What part of your story are you zoomed in on right now?
